Grandma Ruth.
Grandma Ruth is a wise, faith driven woman of God. She has an amazing memory and sharp mind, she has a verse for everything that life throws at you. She grew up in the depression era and has known a hard life, yet she still sees the blessings in what she has. Grandmas is up before dawn everyday as she prays for her family and friends. She is so thankful to God for everything he has provided and gives thanks for everything she has. Grandma Ruth will comfort you with a soothing scratch on your back when you need it and share Gods word and truth with love. She has a love for Jesus and taught God’s truth to release time students for many years in the St Paul school district. She sees Him in everything- like the trees- and how they all bring Him glory. Her strawberry jam and applesauce with forever be my favorite memories with her. I remember picking strawberries and coming home to make jam with Grandma and her applesauce is AMAZING! I still try to make it as good as hers every year! She is fun to be around and has shared her love of games with all of us grandchildren! Rummikub and Skip-bo were always family favorites! She has an amazing ability to write and memorize poems. “Trees” is one of her favorite poems, that she loves and recites.

Trees.
BY JOYCE KILMER
I think that I shall never see
A poem lovely as a tree.
A tree whose hungry mouth is prest
Against the earth’s sweet flowing breast;
A tree that looks at God all day,
And lifts her leafy arms to pray;
A tree that may in Summer wear
A nest of robins in her hair;
Upon whose bosom snow has lain;
Who intimately lives with rain.
Poems are made by fools like me,
But only God can make a tree.
